Folks in the UK are taking a more active approach in talking about domestic violence and coercive control than I’ve seen in the US. Women’s Aid, a national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children launched 16 Days of Activism, a new campaign aimed to educate people about the signs of coercive control by using the popular format of a TV game show to demonstrate that women often don’t realise their relationship is abusive and that they’re victims of coercive control, as their partners tell them that their controlling behaviour is normal.
